Just yesterday I saw the world premiere of Stargate Universe. I have to say that it really has an extremely different mood compared to its predecessors. Instead of focusing on going through the gate, exploring new worlds, meeting new people and ultimately saving the day, this series has more of a focus on drama and such. For anyone, such as myself, who has grown to love the mood of the previous Stargate shows for their mainly PG rated, action, adventour fun, this might not be the show for you. In fact the only time I personally liked watching the show was when I was seeing elements of the SG-1 such as the actors from SG-1 and the enemy ships. This is certainly more of a show for people who like to see more drama and watching charaters interact in dramatic situations.

In my opinion, if you are looking for something totally new in the Stargate franchies, the check out Stargate Universe and see what you think.
